Paediatric Procedures

In addition to an adult model, ROWENA also comes as an accurate Paediatric unit featuring an upper cranium with scalp, bone and dural layers and a head base. It also offers a replaceable and fully conformed brain with the option of a brain featuring standard ventricles. ​

A selection of simulated paediatric procedures are outlined below:​

  • Tapping the frontal fontanelle.
  • Use of sutures and fontanelles
  • Inserting a parietal EVD
  • Burr hole by hand through the paediatric skull vault
  • Securing and opening the dura; dural suturing and closure

 

  • Tunnelling an EVD
  • Fully Ultrasound compatible, can be used for training
  • CT & MRI compatible, easily used with neuro-navigation systems
